About the Mission
In rural, HIV-affected communities in South Africa, many vulnerable families struggle to provide for their children. While there are multiple factors affecting their ability to care for their children, the availability of food is an important one. A sustainable source of fresh food can make or break a child’s chances of growing in his or her family as lack of food is one of the widest spread reasons for child institutionalization or abandonment.
Our mission is to empower families through the Word of God, build gardens to ensure children have access to nutritious food and work with the community as a whole, to ensure they are equipped to care for vulnerable children and families at risk of separation. The beneficiaries of our efforts are usually women-led households, single parents, grandparents caring for their grandchildren and individuals living with HIV.
