CERI Provides Emergency Assistance in Central African Republic

For the past 2 ½ months CERI has provided emergency supplemental support to feed 75 orphans and 39 widows in the aftermath of a government coup in the Central African Republic (CAR).

This was made possible by the Reeder Global Emergency Fund in coordination with the Hope Orphan Center in Bangui. CAR remains in turmoil with several agencies calling for additional foreign assistance from countries around the world.

CERI has a medical missions’ team standing by to provide further assistance as soon as the government can reestablish the rule of law and control the random acts of violence.

The UN News Centre quoted the UN Chief of Humanitarian Aid, Ms. Valerie Amos as saying, “Once again children are the face of a crisis. In CAR, thousands are acutely malnourished, displaced and out of school as a result of the conflict.”
