Lilly Gossmann Montenegro

National Child Protection Consultant – Guatemala

Lilly Gossmann Montenegro is dedicated to protecting the children of Guatemala. She has a passion for supporting families and creating opportunities for them to care for their children at home.

How It Started:

Whether by coordinating adoptions, supporting foster families, or mobilizing the church to engage in community impact, Lilly has worked at all levels to help vulnerable children and families. She has worked for government and nongovernmental organizations including UNICEF, the Department of Social Welfare of Guatemala, and International Justice Mission.

Lilly also teaches at Rafael Landivar University in Guatemala City in the Master’s in Childhood and Adolescence Management program.

Lilly enjoys forming strategic alliances with partners and works to bring groups together in protecting the children of Guatemala.

Behind the Scenes:

Lilly values her faith and family above all. She loves spending time and telling jokes with family and having a good conversation over a cup of coffee.

What Protecting Childhood Means:

“Guaranteeing a dignified life not only for a child but for their family as a whole.”

Favorite Childhood Memory:

“Playing every afternoon with my cousins and spending time together at family gatherings.”

“My greatest inspiration are the families and children that I support in making significant changes in their lives.”
