My name is Vithya, and I live with my aunt, uncle, cousins, and brother and sisters in Sri Lanka. We reside in a small house. My mother passed away due to kidney failure, and shortly after her death, my father abandoned us. My aunt is now taking care of me along with her own three children. The government officials enrolled my siblings to a children’s home, as my sister, who has mental illness, could not stay with us and is now in a center for mentally challenged children. My uncle works as a laborer in a different city, but it is challenging to support all of us, especially with educational and nutritional expenses. We struggle to find food and meet our basic needs. Despite her difficulties, my aunt cares for us very well. Our aunt understands the bond between my siblings and myself, so she frequently brings them home during holidays. I am very interested in my studies, but I have faced challenges due to limited facilities in the past. I am friendly and in good health.
