My name is Kisha. I live in Sri Lanka with my mother, aunt, cousin, and uncle. My uncle has a form of mental illness. We all live together in a small house that has just two rooms and a small hall. When I was three years old, my father passed away due to cancer. This loss deeply affected my mother both mentally and psychically. Our aunt is the one who provides for us. She is a widow with one daughter and works odd jobs in housekeeping to earn a little money. Despite her hard work, it’s difficult for her to make ends meet. My mother is unable to work because she needs to take care of me, and her health. Because of our situation, my mother finds it very hard to look after me. Despite these challenges, I am currently going to nursery school. One day, I dream of becoming a pilot, as that was my father’s wish for me.
