Monthly Financial Support is provided to foster families on behalf of their foster child’s individual sponsor. Case managers assists the parents in building a personalized budget, which ensures that the financial assistance is used to meet the basic needs of the foster child (food, utilities, transportation, school and clothing). In addition, financial support is used to teach the foster child important independent living skills related to money management. Financial support monitoring continues as long as the child is in the FC program. In-kind and other one-time support is provided to program participants for clothing, school supplies or medical needs.
