Foster Home Monitoring

Foster Home Monitoring

Foster Home Monitoring is an ongoing service provided by CERI staff to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the child in the foster home, as well as the compliance of foster families with local laws and regulations. Although many developing countries have a legislative body that regulates foster care services, most do not have standards of care, or the capacity to monitor such standards. CERI staff use the CERI standards of care, which meet and exceed the standards existing in most developing countries, to ensure that the foster home is a safe and nurturing environment for a child. Quarterly home inspections, that follow a specific schedule of standards and objectives, ensure that the physical surroundings of the foster home, the health of the foster parents, the child’s room and belongings are adequate to providing a high quality of care.
