My name is Kavitha and I am 13 years old. I live in a small village in Sri Lanka, with my three siblings. When I was 12 years old, my mother committed suicide. She and my father quarreled a lot. She would tell me about all the fights they had. I realize that my mother must have suffered a lot. My father and elder brother are still living in the small house my mother built with microcredit. My two younger brothers and I are staying with my aunt. After my mother’s death, my aunt called us and took us into her home. My aunt stays home and looks after us. My uncle earns a little money with a small vegetable garden. My aunt cares a lot about me and she is very kind and lovingly. But she struggles financially. She cannot fulfill our needs. We live in a small shelter and, during the rainy season, the house floods. Currently, I’m in eighth grade. I feel good and I like to create good relationships with my friends. In my free time in the evening, I help my uncle in the vegetable garden. I like to do the gardening. I want to become an accountant one day, because this was my mother’s wish too. Your sponsorship will help me to reach my goals, and also help my brothers have a good future. I wish to help children like me one day. Thank you for helping me have a better life.
