Karivarshan lives in Kurinchamunai village, Sri Lanka, with his grandparents and his one year old sister. Karivarshan’s biological father left him and his mother due to a relationship problem when the boy was only one. After a while his mother remarried and gave birth to his sister, Sathulaxshana. The step father ignored and abused Karivarshan, as he never accepted him as his child. But he was loved by his mother very much, who instructed him to make good choices. In the spring of 2018, Karivarshan parents got into a fight with a fatal outcome for his mother. The step father committed suicide on the same night. Both children lost their parents on the same day. Karivarshan loves his baby sister very much and wants to take care of her when he grows up. He is very angry with his biological father and he blames him for the death of his mother. Karivarshan has many dreams and hopes, however, his grandparents are not able to give him the education and the parenting he needs to thrive. Karivarshan needs counseling and therapy to overcome his grief. He also needs nutritious food and a safe, loving home to live in.
