My name is Andrei. I was born in Russia. I don’t know my father and my mother abandoned me at birth and returned to Moldova. For 13 years I lived in different orphanages and no one paid attention to me. In some of the orphanages, I was humiliated, beaten by educators and sometimes had to stay outside in the rain. My teachers did their job, but they never showed me love or mercy. When I was 13 years old, my stepfather brought me to Moldova to live with my grandmother. I stayed there for only two weeks, and then my grandmother died from a serious illness. I felt helpless and alone again, for the only person who cared for me passed away. The social workers decided to send me to live with my mother who was in the village, but she was cold to me and she didn’t want to see me. I was then placed in a family. Presently, I am a student at the Professional School. I like the profession I have chosen. When I have free time, I enjoy drawing, listening to music and cleaning the house. I like going to church on Sunday because when I was in Russia I didn’t go to church and did not know about God.
