May 13, 2017 --- In May, a group of 60 supporters gathered to enjoy brunch, music and a message from CERI’s Executive Director, Connie Belciug. Belciug spoke about CERI’s mission to care for orphans around the world, and how CERI exists to help those who face brutal living conditions.
May 23, 2017 --- About 50 moms and their sons attended the inaugural CERI Mother Son Night of Fun at the Witte Museum in San Antonio on Friday, May 19. Moms and their handsome young “dates,” adorned in their Sunday best, toured the awe-inspiring dinosaur installations.
May 9, 2017 --- Javeed is a bright, energetic 20-year-old living in Sri Lanka. Hardships can’t defeat his resilient spirit – even though he has had a painful childhood, he still strives to reach his goals and succeed. Tragically, Javeed never knew his mother; she died giving birth to him. Then, at the early age of 4, he faced another tragedy. His father passed away from complications caused by severe arthritis. With both parents gone, Javeed went to live with his grandmother, Seyamboo.
May 9, 2017 --- Philipraj is a kind and intelligent 21-year-old. He is always ready to give a smile to anyone he encounters. No one would suspect that he has experienced great sorrow in his life. Philipraj is the youngest of three children.
May 5, 2017 --- Jaclyn Gamez, a registered nurse, joined the CERI mission trip last year that traveled to the South African town of Ladysmith, KwaZulu-Natal. Gamez and five team members helped build sustainable gardens and supply groceries for families outside of Ladysmith.
April 2, 2017 --- CERI celebrated 100 mothers in India who are raising their children in a healthy way, laying a strong foundation for their entire community. At a unique family-strengthening event, mothers from the urban resettlement slum of Madhanpur Khadar were celebrated. This slum is prone to child trafficking, crime, drug abuse, poverty and unemployment.
April 20, 2017 --- The Second Annual BCFS Employee Giving Campaign for CERI was a great success. Over the last year, BCFS System employees donated more than $86,000 to CERI. As a result of the commitments made through this year’s Employee Giving Campaign, employee donations should reach $100,000 over the next 12 months.
