In-Country Customs and Expectations Training is an informal training module that CERI delivers to all volunteers going on Mission Trips.
It can be a face-to-face meeting where participants ask questions and receive answers from a CERI representative, or an informative brochure that gives them the critical information they need to know about CERI, international travel and the customs, language, history and political situation of the country where they are ready to travel to. Printed country-specific journals are provided to all Mission Trip volunteers.
CERI expectations also include the use of volunteers’ personal social media profiles to promote the work conducted overseas. Prayer, a Christian attitude towards the customs and characteristics of the indigenous populations and sharing a testimony or a word of encouragement with team members or served populations are also expected during Mission Trips.
Volunteers who feel convicted that God is leading them to do more for the served populations are encouraged to sponsor a child in that community, who qualifies for the CERI program.
